Where was CCR Fan - the Forum Moderator . . .

.
. . . . when this thread went down?

Right on the front General Discussion Page, the following thread was posted.

Everything was going along just dandy, until the subject matter was hijacked to the detriment of the rest of the forum membership...

This here is one of many prime examples, and just goes to show how impossible it became to carry on any semblence of a discussion without "a certain troublemaker" coming into a thread and side-tracking it to the dust-bin of oblivion...

You can quickly pick up the relevent portions of the thread by scrolling down to the
bright red side-remarks:

Reply At least Fogerty doesn't do this to us, his fans

NASHVILLE, Tennessee (AP) -- Keith Urban has checked himself into a rehabilitation treatment center, less than four months after the Grammy-winning country singer's marriage to actress Nicole Kidman.

Urban released a statement Friday that said he entered rehab Thursday night with his wife by his side.

I think JCF needs to find some new friends; Keith and Willie are both people he played with in the last year and now they both have issues.

Goodness gracious!

Poor Kieth!

He needs all the love and support that everyone and anyone can muster at this difficult time.

I hope he can conquer his demons. It ain't easy.

As long as he knows that people rarely quit once - it's a process of learning that lasts a lifetime to control addictions...
he should not be so hard on himself.
The experts say that persons who smoke quit at least 14 times before it really is over.
I'm sure the same number holds for drug and alcohol abuse.

He's admitting he has a problem and that's the all-important first step.

Not holding secrets from those who love him is a valuable second step.

I wish him all the hope in the world...
Hope floats...Hope is a person's greatest ally in the face of hard and difficult times.....

God's blessings be on him and his lovely new wife.

If I recall correctly, this isn't Keith's first run with rehab. I think he and Nikki Taylor (model) both entered drug rehab when they were dating many moons ago...

I do not know KU in person but I do have a VERY close buddy who KU treats like his brother....KU is a good heart warming man who went from rags to riches darn quickly. Give him a break and your best. He earned it.

KU in rehab, man, the music business does it to ya each and everytime.

I have never been a KU fan. I am not too impressed with him or his music at all. I have nothing for him nor do I have nothing against him, to me, he is just out there doing his thing. It's OK with me.

If you get to rehab, I hope you get out of there and back on track real soon, and that goes for KU and everyone else.

... perhaps he is having a difficult time handling success.
... perhaps he has allowed himself to become a victim of society and or the music business without even knowing it. This is usually the cause for these things.

Sometimes people used to get real mad at jcf for his conduct towards his fans. It never bothered me in the least. I know jcf is OK and sometimes he has to do things just to protect himself be it personally emotionally etc etc. People and the music business will do it to you each and every time:
"if you 'let' them,
ah! but don't you, let them," ... james taylor.

rock on KU

I have more respect for somebody who goes into rehab on their own volition (Keith Urban), as opposed to some celeb who makes a jerk of himself on the front page of the news before admitting there's a problem.

**cough** **cough** Mel Gibson (after his anti-Jewish tirade); Rush Limbaugh (after being busted with prescription pills);Kate Moss (after being caught on tape snorting coke); Mark Foley (after sending x-rated emails to a kid); Colin Farrel (after the phone throwing incident); George Michael (after the numerous passing-out-in-his-car incidents); Patrick Kennedy (after crashing his car on Capitol Hill); Robert Downey (after waking up in his neighbor's house); Billy Joel (after crashing his car)... I'm sure there's more..

The music business as an excuse is a cop out.

The first step one must recognize is one's own weaknesses.

A person will never overcome an addiction until they recognize that the center of the problem they have resides in their own skull.

And again, my answer was:

Considering you have me beat by 627 posts here at the JCF forum ... I guess so . . .

And then the Oracle-of-all chimed in with:

In light of the fact that this cyber ne'er-do-well currently has 5276 posts on his ezBoard Global User account versus my 1815... it underscores the fact that my logic is just fine...

At 3461 more posts...

:lol This person not only takes the cake, he's got the whole bakery covered. :lol

First, I appreciate the detailed explanation as to what happened over on the JF political message board so thanks for taking time for the update.

From what I've gathered, one person, the moderator, has total autonomy and can control the contents and decisions made without explanation or oversight. His response to your PM in no way addresses your complaint at all so do you have any recourse as a result? Your wife was also banned without reason so how can that in any way be viewed as a justified decision.

A few people have exacerbated certain points made in comments spinning them like a merry go round yet they are still posting? It's simply wrong.

Somehow I just don't believe JF would find any of this acceptable.

What next?
